About
Communications grounded in clarity, relationship, and purpose.

Laura is a Los Angeles-based strategic community communications consultant.
She works with mission-driven organizations, including nonprofits, foundations, social enterprises, and other cause-based organizations, to turn ambitious programs and community impact into clear strategic communications objectives, including policy change, public awareness, and community engagement.
Her approach combines close editorial thinking with hands-on media relations: finding the right angle, building genuine reporter relationships, preparing spokespeople, and managing the details that help a story land well.
Laura previously served for more than four years as Communications Director at La Defensa, a Los Angeles-based organization focused on judicial elections and community investment. She also provided communications support at Moonwater Farm, where she helped develop and lead a youth development program for two summers in 2018 and 2019. Working with young people ages 7 to 19, the program centered climate and sustainability learning alongside food equity education.
Her work today is especially informed by experience in food access, environmental sustainability, education, and social justice.
